Asha McLeod Asha is an award winning hairstylist who is internationally recognized as one of the world's experts in the care and styling of Black and Super Curly hair.  Asha’s work has appeared in many commercial and professional magazines such as Vogue, Essence, Passion, Modern Salon, American Salon and Shop Talk as well all of the popular Black hair style magazines to be found at the newsstands.

Asha is originally from Trinidad, in the Caribbean, where her mother before she retired, owned and operated Trinidad's largest beauty school and salon . After completing Grade School,  Asha began her career in the business as an assistant in her mother's business. With Trinidad being a country of vast ethnic diversity, Asha had to face the daily challenges of working with all types of hair, from poker straight Asian, to mixed textured hair- belonging to many of Trinidad's multi-race population, to the very super curliest of Afro textured hair.

After immigrating to Canada and establishing a solid reputation as an exceptional hairstylist, Asha left Canada in the late 1970s' and spent a number of years in New York City, working with some of the industries best hair designers, perfecting her skills in Black hair styling. Asha attributes much of her success in the beauty business today, to this invaluable experience.

With having completed over 25 exciting and successful years of performing, teaching and sharing with others the art of hair design, Asha has today earned the respect and recognition of her peers around the world.  As an educator Asha combines a  passion for sharing her knowledge with a unique and practical style of presentation. She indeed has the rare talent of being able to educate and entertain at the same time.

During her well-known career, Asha has progressed through the ranks as a stylist, salon manager and advanced educator for many major hair care manufacturers.  She was the National Educational Director for a major salon chain, responsible for the continuing education of over 250 hair stylists and is a previous multiple salon owner herself. Asha is now channeling her energies into her Advanced Training Academy, where she is offering MasterClasses on all aspects of the skills and techniques of chemical servicing, as well as the cutting and styling of Black and Super Curly hair to stylists from around the world. However, Asha's greatest accomplishment she feels, is that she has shown thousands of women of different racial backgrounds, and in particular woman African descent, how to embrace and love their natural super curly hair.

This combination of creativity, technical expertise and mastery of her art, ensures that Asha McLeod and the Jazma Artistic Team will continue to remain at the forefront of advances in innovative hair design and presentation,  for many years to come.
